Oh we love braids and so does the whole world.
One of the ultimate aesthetic expressions for women of African descent has got to be braids. The hair style spans back to ancient Africa, and is so culturally significant that the technique was used to communicate different tribes and groups.

In the UK braids for Black women and men are often a look you go towards to be creative and also fuss-free.

From many years ago leading up to today, braiding has prompted a multi-million dollar division in the beauty industry. `High fahion thinks its too black when worn by women of color but are often worn by white chicks to give them that cool look. But now loads of salons, independent braiders, and hair products have emerged. Braided styles like the early nineties “dookie” or “goddess” braids have become a staple for women, adorned by golden beads and other hair ornaments.

Do you remember Brandy, the singer-actresses signature look centered on her gorgeous pigtail or knotted braids. Also Janet Jackson starred opposite Tupac Shakur in John Singleton’s “Poetic Justice” using her “goddess” braids as a cornerstone of her character’s personal style. And todays Alicia Keys who wears them so well.

But we can’t forget about the men , Lemar, Trey Songz, have worn the classic braided cornrows braided by the sista around the corner. Singer Mario even had a song called “Braid My Hair.’ lol

Throughout our collective memory, we can recollect the seconds, minutes, and hours that we’ve spent in between our mother’s knees, wincing with pain or at the community stylist, having our coiled strands interlocked together, tighter than Simon Cowells jeans.

Today, we can see the visual evolution and versatility of present day braided styles. The look has become more global, high-fashion, and has even taken cues from other cultures blending it with traditional African elements.

Braids are beautiful, diverse, sexy and classic. Here’s to the love of braids and all the beautiful people that wear it.

We love girls of color, and especially the ones who like rocking the new fashion trends!!!!
Have you ever felt like making our own style, but wasn’t to sure of what people would say about you? ,
Do you listen to music that’s hasn’t hit main stream and it wont get to heard in months, and you also listen to hip hop or alternative music but you don’t really look the part?

Well girl this blog is all about you and we got a few tips for you and how you can express your self with your clothing, make-up and over all style!!!!!
Just to let you know there are no rules!!!!!!!!!!!!
Being you is being the future!!!!!!

There is so much things you can do with your hair, you can dye it all sorts of colours and there are so many ways of styling your hair!!!!!
Here are one of many ways to style your hair, quick and easy!!!! 😛
We know a lot of girls with great amazing hair but just don’t know how to manage it!!!
We really do recommend for you to look for a texturizer or a perm to tame your hair, it will be better for you in the long term as brushing tough knotty hair could really damage your hair, and could cause alopecia and no one wants that !!!! lol
Plus with all these perms that you buy the really good products will come with a great conditioning treatments to restore the moisture in your hair!!!
if you can’t afford to go to the hair dressers, there are tone of Afro Caribbean hair shops all over especially London and you can also go on the net, and order the best recommended product that can help you!!! Click here for one of our favorite hair shops online!!

Here is a quick cute hair style for long or short hair that can be done in 2 seconds!!!!
Brush or comb your hair to one side, making sure the side you brush from your face is your best angle, and simply use a clip, pin, grip any hair accessory that can hold your hair in place!!!!
Dont for get to put your own personal touch on it!!!
Like a Bow clip or ribbon or even a hat on the side to add some personal flavour to your hair style!!!

Another cute scene style that is the ‘ Just woke up look’ It all about not having the perfect up do!!!!
So that means you hair tied to the side and random chunks of hair fall down where your sideburns should be.

Full fringe known as a bang is quite popular and would look great with ‘i just woke up look’ so what you can do is the same thing but instead of moving your hair to the side or backwards, just brush it down your face and find a length that you like and snip snip. We would advise to go to a hairdresser to get that done as it is in front of your face and if it goes wrong, im sure there will be tears!!!! So if your going to do it your self make sure your hair is dry when you cut it, or your bang may end up really short and also its a good idea to cut it longer than cut it too short!

Simple is great for everyday look so some eyeliner black or brown, this will bring out your eyes what ever colour it is, mascara (optional), and some foundation (if you’ve got some blemishes or spots).
For more days you want to make an effort and impress you can add r eye shadows of what ever colour you feel to wear (We love our pink and purple shimmering eye shadow from Barry M). Great false eyelashes and if your feeling adventurous even contacts!!! 😛

Skinny Jeans short shorts and leggings are a must!!!!
Also if you have any graphic tees or jumpers [tee shirts with words or pictures on them] wear them, they are super cool and especially when they have great positive sayings on them !!!!!

Some major scene characters to wear on your shirt are Hello Kitty, Barbie, Power Puff girls,Disney, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and basically any wacky looking things.
Also with these clothes to make it look unique you can get your glue gun and add anything on to them that you think is kool or even cut the clothes a bit to show a bit of flesh (we do like the sexy chick look)!!!!!!

It doesn’t matter if its branded or not, as long as it looks good we are good to go!!!!
But here are a few shoes and trainers we like, converse, vans, or flat pumps, nike dunks, army boots, knee high boots, ankle boots, really anything goes as long as it looks good with your outfit!!!!!!!!! 😛

Simply get your nails done from plain colour to 3D designs with your own personal touch on them!!!! 😛

We hope you’ve enjoyed this post and has helped you become your own TRENDY CHICK OF COLOUR!!!!!!

As the economy is slowing and jobs are getting harder for young people to find. its much more important now to make sure you have the when going for that all important job interview. If the job disciption is expectd of you to look smart you got to first make sure your wardrobe proves why you’re perfect for the position. Corporate environments are typically conservative and that goes for their dress codes as well, which means muted colors, no strong patterns, and a clean, simple look. There’s no need to go dust off mums old 80s powersuit but we thought we’d give you a few tips to get the look right so you grab that job.

Wear a Suit

A well-fitted suit is the most important aspect of dressing for an interview because it shows you mean business. Invest in quality suits that you’ll wear again and again. Whether you want to mix and match a blazer and pants to make the perfect suit or you’re on the hunt for a new one, look for a structured jacket that’s not too boxy and pants that have a tailored fit. If a pantsuit isn’t your thing, a skirtsuit is more traditional and just as appropriate if paired with sheer stockings. But to keep from looking frumpy, stick with a slim cut, like a pencil skirt. Whatever suit option you go for, stick to classic colors like black, browns, grays or blues.

Not too much Accessories

Accessories are the place where you can showcase a bit more of your personal style but keep it to minimum. Opt for a sleek bag that’s big enough to hold your resume, a stylish but neutral toned pump or bootie, or a simple watch. Just make sure not to go overboard. Things like open-toed shoes, sling backs, or over-the-top jewelry are a no-no in most corporate settings.

Be Colorful- With a Catch

Color is a great tool for making a look interesting, but in most cases, too much color is distracting. You want the interviewer to pay attention to you, not what you’re wearing. Resist the urge to be flashy and choose your color choices wisely. A pop of color here or there either through a sassy skinny belt or a blouse in light color goes a long way.

Don’t Forget the Outerwear

When it comes to the interview, every little bit counts. The moment you walk in the building, you are making an impression. From the receptionist to a potential manager, its important to make a good first impression on the people who may one day be your co-workers. Be sure your outerwear is just as stylish as your interview look by opting for a traditional coat like the one Halle Berry is sporting.

Be Creative and Conservative

For corporate jobs that have a creative bent, such as marketing or public relations, its ok to show a bit more of your creative side and little more flesh, because the point of your future job is to think outside the box and to engage with people so you need to stand out but still look corporate. Have fun with classic pieces that have an updated, modern twist. A form fitting, but appropriate, suit is perfect, however polished separates like a simple blouse and a pencil skirt or trousers, work just as well.

Amber is one of the words most sexist women and has come along way from the the days of being just a hip hop honey.
Most people dont know that Amber Rose was much more explicit in the early days of her career as a stripper.
But then she met and dated kanye West and everything all changed. Since then she has gone to feature in trendy magazine, red carpets and graced catwalks.
With all the curves in the right places she was a girl who wasnt scared to flaunt her thang as you can see in the video below from 2005.
But im glad she moved away eventually from the Oover-sexed look which can sometimes be a bit trashy.
Now shes a big star she has toned down her swagger, to a much more sophistcated look (much better) but still super hot sexy.

We like to brag about them to our girls and we love how they make us look…

We feel very lucky when we finally find the right one and we just can’t wait to tell our friends about them. Cor they have to look good, got to be realiable too… but what really determines how long we will be with them is their durability. We don’t mind the little groans and pains but if they keep on hurting us and acting stubborn we will have to say goodbye and find a replacement what we talking about… Men?
Nope, you know what I’m talking about… Shoes! They do have a lot in common but, let’s just focus on differences for now and see where shoes beat men by 10 points. So, I give you my 10 suggestions:

1. You can pick the size

You can try on different sizes to find the one that fits. If you, however, make a mistake, your new shoes won’t feel bad if you replace them for bigger ones. Now, if replacements are not allowed you can always give them to your sister or a best friend and feel good knowing that you’ve just made one girl very happy.

2. You can have as many as you want (yippee!!!)

You are free to drool over the gorgeous pair you’ve just walked by without having to face the anger of the pair you are already wearing. Nobody will call you names if you have more than one pair, you won’t risk having bad reputation if people see you with new ones every day, they won’t try to kill each other and they won’t make you choose.

3. No surprises

The chances of leaving them at home only to find them in your neighbor’s shoe closet are close to zero but even if that happens it won’t be their fault and it definitely won’t mean she’s hotter than you.

4. They come with a certificate and a money back guarantee

With shoes, you never have to worry about getting a “wolf in sheepskin” or “seeing their true colors” because everything you need to know has already been written on the box. If they break or turn out to be worse than you have expected, you can always return them, get your money back and an apology as a bonus!

5. Shoes don’t come with a “history”

You are the first, the last and the only woman in their life. They don’t have exes, attachment issues, or skeletons in the closet. In fact, the only bad thing that might happen is realizing that they are not as comfortable as you thought they would be.

6. Shoes don’t have overprotective mommies

The person who made your shoes won’t try to lecture you how to wear or take care of them justifying that with hours of hard labor.

7. They don’t complain

Your favorite pair of sandals won’t feel the need to have “a serious talk with you” despite the fact that you haven’t touched them in a year or more. You can even wear the same pair every day and they won’t call you “ needy” or ask to give them “some space”.

8. They are easier to “break in”

You can ask your mom, sister or a best friend to do this for you. You can even take them to your shoe-repair guy and ask him to put your new babies on a machine made especially for that. And, most importantly, once you finally break them in they won’t run away to another girl’s shoe closet!

9. They are reliable

They don’t have loser friends, they won’t embarrass you in public and they won’t change the channel in the middle of your favorite TV show. Champion’s League doesn’t mean a lot to them so you won’t have to memorize dates and times for all the big games to know whether or not you can count on them.

10. Finding the perfect match is much easier

Some shoes complete the look perfectly, some are great for party look and some are glamorous beyond words. When it comes to shoes, finding the perfect match doesn’t necessarily mean ONE (pair, style, color) and it definitely won’t leave you heartbroken!

all good then, they all have their good sides and I know not having shoes or men would make our lives horrible. But, why choose when we can have both! yerr bwoy!!
